Update, Garden

and so, it IS starting to get colder here. this morning when i rode my bike to work it was 45 degrees fahrenheit. i had to wear my hood.

right now i'm listening to a steve martin record from 1979 that i got at a t.s.

the record has some pretty bad "broken record" scratches on the first side. it keeps repeating at inopurtune moments.

yesterday was aubrey's birthday. she's now a 23.
yesterday afternoon spring and i made 18 rolls of vegetarian sushi - for the then ensuing birthday party and dinner.

logan, (not logey, but a different logan), brought a big bowl of edemame. which went well w/ the sushi.
there were about 12-14 people who showed up. a lot of the transplanted flag crew as well as others. like betty, from chicago, and some kids who live right down the street from A's house. a few people admitted to being skeptical of the possibility that they could actually get full at a homeade vegetarian sushi dinner party. they were pleasantly surprised. there was so much sushi that we couldn't even finish it all by the end of the night. and i ate a LOT. you know how i get.

spring took some pictures of it all, so she just might post you all some more aboat it.

so my garden finally has its first little tomatoes. i didn't know if any would come in time before the cold, since i planted so late. but here they are.. barely...

i apologize for my camera's unfocused-ness. it's not too great for some of these up-close moments.

the mint

isn't doing too awesomely, perhaps i should have propped it up.
y'know, tied it to a stick.

i did think the plant might be smart enough to support itself, though.

(the above photograph i edited with "gamma." an editing option.

this one is the same photo, only regular - without the gamma effect.)

interesting,

this here is
the biggest one
of the [three] carrot plants..

and even this carrot is probably still very tiny, underground. i actually haven't looked... yet.

isn't it just LUSH here !

and this is what a summer's worth of less rain can do to your green grassy yard.
but who CARES!

i've been hanging out with a nice girl from work.
